Location: South Wales
Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 (depending on experience)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent.
As an Industrial Door Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and servicing a range of industrial and commercial door systems. You will ensure doors operate efficiently, safely, and reliably in compliance with industry standards, safety legislation, and customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
* Install, commission, and test roller shutters, sectional overhead doors, high-speed doors, sliding doors, and folding doors
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with manufacturer specifications and standards (e.g., BS EN 12453, BS EN 12635)
* Diagnose and repair faults in motors, control systems, safety devices, and mechanical components
* Adjust and calibrate doors for correct alignment and smooth operation
* Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
* Accurately complete service reports, job sheets, and parts requisition forms
* Provide technical advice and recommendations to customers
* Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to source parts and technical documentation
* Work in accordance with company and site-specific safety rules
* Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota
Experience and Certifications Required:
* Proven experience installing, servicing, and repairing industrial or commercial doors
* Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
* Familiarity with safety devices, control panels, and automation systems
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams
* Full UK driving licence (clean)
* Ability to pass full NPPV2 security vetting
* DHF or equivalent powered door safety certification – desirable
* IPAF, PASMA, or CSCS qualifications – desirable
* Experience with dock levellers, loading bay equipment, and related access systems – desirable
* Basic IT skills for electronic reporting – desirable
