Join Our Team as a Project Leader (Science) at Saint Gobain Interior Solutions!

Are you a passionate Engineer or Materials Scientist ready to innovate and make an impact? Saint Gobain Interior Solutions is looking for a dynamic Project Leader to join our Product Optimisation team based at our East Leake site in Loughborough.

This full-time position offers a flexible work schedule (Mon-Fri, 36.25 hours/week) with some opportunities to work from home and some required travel.

What We Offer:

• Project delivery: Act as the project leader and/or technical lead on business change projects, developing and substantiating new products and systems.
• Collaborative Environment: Work in cross functional teams to deliver solutions that meet customer needs. Your role will involve a mix of office-based tasks and occasional lab work.
• Customer Interaction: Provide expert support to our internal and external customers by offering tested and reliable solutions. You'll be signing off on technical specifications, ensuring materials meet stringent requirements, and assisting in problem-solving.
• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of existing products and systems. Help us uphold our reputation for delivering solutions that exceed customer expectations.

What You'll Do:

• Team & Department culture: Work to deliver our ambitions to promote a safe and sustainable workplace.
• Technical Leadership: Manage and support business projects, ensuring the successful development of systems and performance claims to deliver customer centric solutions.
• Product Development: Participate in the development of products and systems through pilot development, line trials, and customer trials. Work with internationally recognised testing laboratories to develop and maintain our performance substantiation library. Understand how customers use and assemble our products and systems to explore improvement opportunities.
• Customer Focus: Engage with customers to understand their needs and challenges with our existing offerings to identify customer centric solutions.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work alongside diverse teams, contributing to continuous improvement and high standards of performance.

What We're Looking For:

• Educational Background: A relevant degree in Materials Science/Engineering or a scientific discipline with 2-3 years relevant experience or a PhD.
• Preferred Experience: Experience with thermal, acoustic, or fire properties of materials is highly desirable.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
• Additional requirements: Full UK driving license
