Management Accountant - Reading
We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to play a crucial role in supporting our finance function as we transition from an outsourced finance team to an in-house setup. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in doing a solid, reliable job, focused on ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping Excellence:
Manage day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.

VAT Returns:
Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring full compliance with HMRC regulations.

Supplier & CIS Payments:
Handle supplier invoicing, payment processing, and manage CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) payments where applicable.

System Support:
Work with accounting systems, ideally Sage Intacct or Sage 200, and familiarity with PO tools would be advantageous.

Finance Transition: Support the transition from an outsourced to an in-house finance function, bringing a proactive, problem-solving mindset to navigate the initial complexities.
What We’re Looking For:

Proven experience as a Management Accountant/Bookkeeper in a busy finance/office environment.

Strong working knowledge of bookkeeping principles and financial processes.

Experience with Sage Intacct, Sage 200, or similar systems is highly desirable.

Competent in managing VAT submissions, supplier payments, and CIS compliance.

A team player with a pragmatic approach—focused on getting the job done well.

Organised, detail-oriented, and adaptable, especially during periods of change.
